Galunker - The Book!

We all love this book, especially at the end with all the information!

This Galunker wants a second reading. And he is pouting until he gets it.

I purchased this book as a gift for my grandchild and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. Not only is it a great book with adorable illustrations, but it also has educational material for parents and children regarding “pit bulls” and dog safety.

When I received this book I immediately looked through it. It is so cute and I love the story. I am going to give it to my niece since she rescued a pit and we love rescue pups. (All animals really)

What a great book! I wish more people realized how great pitties are. I hope this book helps break the stereotype that they have so unfairly been given. My girl is the sweetest and most loving dog anyone could ask for.

I loved this book! Not only was it fun to read, but it helps people understand the truth about Pit Bulls, which is always a good thing!

Chappy Sez: I loved the book. It really represented the discrimination I face and how people not knowing how to interact with me can be a hazard for everyone. Just a little education could go such a long way. I want to give all my friends with kids, or those who just love dogs, this book!

It is of critical importance that children learn, from a young age, that discrimination is wrong. To me, there is no difference whether that discrimination is directed toward a dog or a person - both are wrong. As a family living with a dog who falls under a discriminatory law (Breed Specific Legislation), our toddler is learning first-hand what it's like to fight stereotypes about her best friend. This book, Galunker, is an important read and is an important addition to her library. What's more, the story is delightful and the illustrations are fantastic! This book is enjoyed by our whole family ... including our dog, as seen here!

I've purchased a dozen of these books and I give them away. I think this book is a great book and an easy read for young kids. The illustration is amazing and I think a lot of kids will take a lot from this book. Thank you for publishing such a book for my favorite breed.

I bought this book for my brother and his wife and son. They have had their pit "Blue" for over 6 years and she is the sweetest dog I've ever met! I love that this book teaches alternative thinking toward this breed. Breanne

I bought this book for my 10 year old niece. She loves it and even reads it to her dog. Very good detail, made her feel like she was there.

Cuddles LOVES Galunker. She looks serious here because I informed her that Galunker, although very realistic, is not real.

I do the R.E.A.D. Program at our local Boys and Girls Club with my therapy dogs, Cathal and Pola. The children in the program love Galunker and teading it to my dogs, who are Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Pictured is Cathal giving a kiss to one of the readers!

Just got our copy of Galunker! Everyone with kids who ❤️ dogs needs to buy this book!

We got our copy of Galunker last week! It's a great read and has an excellent message for kids and adults about the stigmas around pitbull type dogs. Michael's reading it to Fergus, who relates to the story. I also appreciated the rules on how to interact with unknown dogs.

Guess I'm not the only one who gets sleepy when reading, regardless of how good the book is.

Mochi likes reading bed time stories to Pike Dogg. (I think she just likes showing off). Tonight is about Galunker a misunderstood pit bull type dog. We haven't finished it yet, but hope Galunker finds a loving home and family to snuggle with.

Merle was supposed to be a foster dog... but it turned out he's entirely terrified of humans and it's pretty impossible to find someone to adopt a dog that runs away or shuts down when you approach. He has been with us for one year now and I don't think he's going anywhere for a long time. He's still afraid, but every day is a day he's off the streets and (hopefully) learning to trust. I was able to get this blurry photo without him running away. <3

As a proud guardian of two rescued "Pit Bull" type dogs this book was a must have! I ordered extra copies for my nephews as my goal is to help raise them with compassion towards all animals, especially the block heads! This is a fun read while also being educational regarding misconceptions about dogs who look a certain way and the importance of adoption. Oh, and the illustrations are fabulous!

Galunker is finally here -- and it's a triumph! ❤️

FINALLY!! After nearly 2 years on a waiting list, Galunker has finally found his way to our fabulous home-library of children's books! While this book is recommended for children aged 8+, Sydney understands all too well the importance of education over discrimination, sharing her home and her heart with a targeted breed of dog. I am thrilled that she now has this very important, well-written and beautifully illustrated addition to her doggie-prominent library! Thank you to author Douglas Anthony Cooper and illustrator Dula Yavne for helping to raise awareness about our beloved dogs, to remind everyone that we should never fear what we don't understand and that these important lessons start with our children, so that we have better-educated future generations. <3

The rhymes were exquisite, The drawings, divine! I love reading it out loud, Time after time!

Such a fun read! It is so important to teach children proper behavior around dogs and this book really hits the nail on the head. Love the rules and "contract" to sign.

I bought this book for my niece for Christmas and she LOVES it! I tend to buy her books and gifts that teach her compassion and kindness. I think this book has it all!
